Community Manager of Academic Tutoring

Lessonface.com, Inc is now hiring a Community Manager of Academic Tutoring to help us to formulate our launch strategy for the academic tutoring vertical, and then to help us execute on the strategy. The Community Manager's ongoing responsibilities will be to enable the success and health of the academic tutoring community, including recruiting and onboarding excellent tutors. This is a new position, with considerable opportunity for growth as our company continues to grow. This will be a part-time role of 20 hours/week to start, based in our headquarters in the West Village of Manhattan.

Lessonface is creating the best platform and community for online 1:1 instruction, meaning that we are very fair with our tutor and student policies and growing quickly. Since our launch in 2013 until now, we have been focused on music lessons. Our music community is wonderful and growing really well. So in addition to continuing to foster our music education community, we are broadening to new subject matter areas to further serve our users. We are very excited about the expansion to new subjects and the new community managers who are joining us!

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS

  • Experienced with academic tutoring and ideally with training tutors
  • Good with people, whether in person, on video conference, over the phone, via chat, or on social media
  • Patient, detail-oriented, creative, curious
  • Capable with basic computer technologies
  • Entrepreneurially minded

MAJOR BONUS POINTS FOR

  • Basic or greater ability with Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Final Cut Pro
  • Social media savvy
  • Content creation chops
