Lessonface Is Two Years Old!

Lessonface has been live to the public for two awesome years. In that time, our amazing teachers have taught thousands of online lessons to students from 24 countries. Our students are mostly from the US (76%). The next largest home of students is Canada (8%). Students have been finding out about us all over the globe, from Japan and Russia, to Argentina and Brazil. Without leaving the house, you can meet and learn from an excellent instructor who specializes in your level/instrument/style. We're doing it every day.

Teachers and students are truly extending beyond their bounds of geography: 52% of lessons take place between students and teachers that are 1-3 time zones away. 15% take place 4 or more time zones away! How cool is that? Sunrise and sunset can be happening to students and teachers simultaneously as they're together practicing scales.

The Lessonface community is incredible. In addition to the growth of the site (our second year was more than 3x our first, and 2015 is already accelerating past that rate), our social networks are growing by leaps and bounds. Our Facebook followers reached 18,000 last week, and our Youtube subscriber base has exceeded 31,000. That is so inspiring to us at team Lessonface.

As celebration of our tremendous first two years in business, and in anticipation of a really great 2015 (and beyond), we are delighted to announce that, as of February 4, 2015 we are pledging 1% of our total sales to Fender Music Foundation, a fantastic 501(c)3 organization that puts 100% of every dollar donated towards getting instruments into music education programs in community centers and schools across the US. They’re a tremendous organization and we could not be more excited about being in a position to support them.

Many, many thanks to everyone who has been a part of Lessonface in our beginning! We are really thrilled to be working with so many phenomenal musicians, educators, developers, and advisors. And we enthusiastically welcome those who are just discovering the possibilities of Lessonface. Come on in, the learning’s fine.
