Sashiko Stitching and Boro-Inspired Patching

Sashiko Stitching and Boro-Inspired Patching with Gail Clement

Explore the centuries-old Japanese stitching practices of Sashiko and Boro-inspired patching, gaining insights into their history, geography, culture, and contemporary trends. Visually appealing slides and video clips, instructor-led demonstrations, and one-on-one guidance combine to provide a thorough introduction to the Japanese stitching techniques that are central to these practices. We gain hands on experience stitching with authentic Japanese-made fabrics, threads, and tools to create lovely small examples of stitched Sashiko and boro-inspired textiles.
