Great Music Ed. NGOs You Can Support

Lessonface.com Supports Music Education in Public Schools

While the budget never seems to go down for Congressional salaries, budget cuts continually drain away music programs in public schools. There are countless studies that show why music education benefits students (as well as adult learners) in numerous manners, but that doesn’t seem to matter to our politicians. So, what are we going to do about it? Let music education disappear?

No. Definitely not. Fortunately there are many great organizations that won’t let that happen. At Lessonface we help provide the platform for students and teachers to meet around the world, erasing boundaries and even saving time and money. But online and traditional education are not enemies; their synergy can improve education greatly. Studies have noted that students who combine online and traditional learning do better than their peers.

The fight to keep music education in schools themselves is something we wholeheartedly support.

Here are a few agencies you might want to check out if you’d like to donate your time or money to the cause of music education in public schools:

VH1’s Save The Music Foundation is dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education. Since its inception in 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided $49.5 million in new musical instruments to 1,850 public schools in more than 192 school districts in America.

The Fender Music Foundation is a national music charity that provides instruments to music education programs across the country, including schools. Who wouldn’t want a sweet Fender guitar?

Give a Note Foundation’s mission is to expand and increase music education opportunities for all children, especially those in low-wealth and underserved areas. The Give a Note Foundation connects musicians, teachers, students, policymakers, and community members and empowers them to fight for music education in children’s lives, and is a creation of the National Association for Music Education.
